Obituary for Selma Goldberg (Ganz)

Selma (Ganz) Goldberg of Lawrence passed on Tuesday August 16, 2016. Selma was a lifelong resident of Lawrence and a proud Lawrencian. With pride she was gratified to work at the IRS for over 30 years.
Selma had a great love for life and people. Selma loved to drive her 1979 Buick LeSabre “Betsy” to visit with her friends at McDonald's. She seemed to know everyone, wherever she traveled. She loved her home and her neighborhood. She would often be seen sitting on her porch, happy to chat with people who walked by. Selma was a unique and special person and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Selma was the wife of the late Jack “Yunkel” Goldberg and dear sister of the late Lewis & his wife Cila Ganz . She is survived by her niece Marsha Ganz and the many friends who enjoyed the pleasure of her company.
A very special thank-you to the staffs of Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center and Merrimack Family Hospice for their kindness and friendship to Selma.
Graveside services will be held at the Children of Abraham Cemetery 260 Beacon St. Lawrence on Thursday August 18 at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in her memory may be made to Boston Children’s Hospital Trust 401 Park Drive Suite 602 Boston, MA 02215 www.childrenshospital.org.
