Obituary for Arnold Levine

Arnold Levine PhD, 82 of Danvers, died at Kaplan Family Hospice on September 9. He was born in Wakefield to the late Louis and Marion Levine. He was a co-captain of the track team of Wakefield High Class of 1951.
Arnold then graduated from Northeastern University in 1957, earned a Master’s Degree in Education from Suffolk University and his Doctorate from the University of Massachusetts.
An educator his entire life, he began his career in North Reading. He taught at Nichols College in Dudley and then Wakefield High School and eventually joined the Burlington school system. He remained in Burlington for more than 20 years, where he was both a mathematics teacher and a Vice Principal. After his retirement, he taught at Middlesex Community College in Lowell.
Mr. Levine was the husband of Shirley (Horovitz) Levine; the father of Nancy McGuirk and Linda & her husband Stephen Kaplan, grandfather of Mae-Lou Zaleski, Leah Kaplan and Brian & his wife Kamaldip Zaleski, and great grandfather of Maddie Zaleski. He also leaves his brother and sisters-in law, Bob & his wife Beverly Levine and Lillian Levine; and a brother-in-law Israel & his wife Gillian Horovitz and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers Melvin Levine and Elden & his wife Joanne Levine.
Services will be held at the Goldman Funeral Chapel 174 Ferry St. (off Route 60) Malden on Monday September 12 at 12 Noon. Interment in Peabody. Condolence calls may be made at his late residence following the interment until 8PM and on Tuesday 4-8PM. IN lieu of flowers, Expressions of sympathy may be made to Friends of Hathorne Division 2 c/o Hogan Regional 450 Maple St. PO Box A Hawthorne, MA 01937.
