Dorothy (Berman) Greene, 89, of Peabody, MA, formerly of Malden, and Centerville, MA, entered into eternal rest on Friday, September 16, 2016, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, in Danvers, MA, surrounded by her loving family, as well as an extraordinarily compassionate staff of caregivers. Devoted wife for over 64 years of Martin H. Greene (Deceased since 2013). Beloved mother of Michael Greene and his wife Donna (Highland Beach, FL), Phyllis Greene and her husband José Varón (Lexington, MA), and Larry Greene and his wife Susan (Hollis, NH). Adored grandmother of Ivy Babbitt and her husband Mark (Tewksbury, MA), Evan Greene and his wife Marlo (Tewksbury, MA), Lianon Close and her husband Jerald (Cumberland, ME), Alexandra Greene-Deutsch (Oakland, CA), and Taylor and Olivia Greene (Hollis, NH). Dear step-grandmother of Shannah Varón and her husband, Jason Arenburg (West Roxbury, MA) and Isaac B. Varón (Somerville, MA). Proud great-grandmother of Brady and McKenna Babbitt, Isla and Calder Close, and Oliver and Lucy Greene, and step grand-mother of Caleb José Arenburg. Loving sister of Leo Berman (Beverly, MA). Pre-deceased by sisters Lena Shilansky Regal, Minnie Strasnick, Esther Frank, and Selma Morrison.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016, at 11 AM at Goldman Funeral Chapel, 174 Ferry Street, Malden, MA, followed by interment at the Ezrath Israel Cemetery, Danvers, MA. Memorial observances following the interment at the Clubhouse at the Arboretum Condominium Complex, 15 Hawthorne Circle, Peabody, MA, with Maariv service to begin at 7 PM (when parking at the Arboretum, please do not block any driveways, as cars will be towed). Additional memorial observances at Temple B’nai Brith, 201 Central St, Somerville, MA, on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, beginning at 5 PM with Maariv service to begin at 7 PM.
