REINHERZ- Helen (Zarsky)
93, of Lexington formerly of Malden. Entered Eternal Rest on February 19, 2017. Devoted wife of the late Samuel Reinherz. Beloved mother of Dr. Ellis Reinherz & his partner Dr. Mikyung Kim. Cherished grandmother of Jesse Reinherz and Anna Reinherz. Dr. Reinherz graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Wheaton College in 1944. She earned her MSW from Simmons School of Social Work in 1946 and achieved her ScD. from Harvard University School of Public Health in 1965. For 43 years she was a faculty member and Professor at Simmons School of Social Work. Dr. Reinherz also was case worker for Family Services Bureau in Newton and child psychiatry at Massachusetts General Hospital. She was a researcher on a NIMH grant at Metropolitan State Hospital and a student supervisor at Simmons School of Social Work. A lifelong resident of Malden until moving to Lexington, she was a long time member of Temple Tifereth Israel of Malden, now Temple Tiferet Shalom, Peabody. Services at Goldman Funeral Chapel 174 Ferry St. (off Route 60) MALDEN on Tuesday February 21 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Peabody. Condolence calls can be made following the interment only, at location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Simmons School of Social Work 300 the Fenway Boston, MA 02115 or a charity of one’s choice
