COHEN- Edward R.
85, of Malden. Entered Eternal Rest on May 28, 2017. A graduate of Malden High School and Boston University, Ed entered the Navy in 1953 serving as a Navy Pilot and 1st Lieutenant deployed to “Operation Deep Freeze” in Antarctica from 1955-1956. After his discharge, he worked for the US Census Bureau in Washington, DC and for several start-up electronics companies before spending more than 20 years at BCBS of Massachusetts designing models of insurance coverage for new medical procedures like liver and heart transplants. Devoted husband of Miriam (Bendell) Cohen. Beloved father of Gary & Carolyn Cohen, David Cohen and Caryn & Howard Eichenbaum. Proud Papa of Rachel, Michaela, Charlotte, & Samara Cohen and Raya Eichenbaum. The loving son of the late George & Ida Cohen and son-in-law of Lorraine Bendell & the late Jack Bendell. Dear brother of the late Rhoda Davidson. He was also the brother-in-law of Robert & Catherine Bendell and the late Aaron Bendell. Services at the Goldman Funeral Chapel 174 Ferry St. (off Route 60) MALDEN on Thursday June 1 at 11:00AM. Interment in Melrose. Condolence calls may be made at his late residence, Thursday evening 7-9PM, Saturday evening 7-9PM and Sunday 2-5PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one’s choice. .
