Ceil Bialek (nee Schwarz), age 94, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2017 in Winchester, MA. Wife of the late Harry Bialek. Daughter of the late Gedalje and Mindel Schwarz. Sister of the late Bruno and Edith. Survived by her two daughters, Harriet Griffin of Malden, MA, and Deborah and her husband, Barry Shedrow of Aiken, SC and three grandsons, David Griffin of Greenfield, MA, Mark Griffin and his wife, Missy Motew of Madison, WI, and Jason Moore of Walnut Creek, CA. Also survived by nieces and nephews and their families.

Ceil, a Holocaust survivor, was born in Vienna, Austria. In 1939, at the age of sixteen, Ceil, her identical twin sister, Edith, and a cousin left Nazi Austria and came to the United States. As an immigrant, she loved the United States, and believed strongly in human rights and civil liberties for everyone. Ceil was a sweet and intelligent woman who loved classical music, especially opera, history, and needlework. She spent much of her life befriending and caring for others.

Services at the East Ridgelawn - Menorah Cemetery 614 Passaic Avenue, Clifton, NJ on Wednesday August 9 at 1:00 PM.
