Obituary for Maurice Benjamin Needle

NEEDLE, Maurice B.
87, of Peabody formerly of Lawrence. Retired businessman and sales rep for J.I. Holcomb Company. Entered Eternal Rest on May 13, 2011. Devoted husband of Helen (Halpern) Needle for 64 years. Beloved father of Leonard & Raquel Needle, Benita “Bunni” & Myron Flagler and Marsha & Marc Nissenbaum. Cherished grandfather of David, Matthew, Sarah, Jessica, Rebecca, Sandi, Jonathan and Alan. Proud great grandfather of David & Layla. Dear brother of the late Ida Cohen. Services at Temple Emanuel 7 Haggetts Pond Road (off Route 133) ANDOVER on Sunday May 15 at 3:00 PM. Interment in Lawrence. Condolence calls may be made following the interment at Temple Emanuel until 7PM. Continuing at his late residence 301 Brooksby Village Dr. Peabody on Monday & Tuesday
1-3PM and 6-8PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be donated to Temple Emanuel or a charity of one’s choice.

Life Story for Maurice Benjamin Needle

Maurice B. Needle 87, of Peabody formerly of Lawrence died on Friday May 13 at Kindred Hospital in Peabody after a brief illness.
Mr. Needle was born and raised in Lawrence. He was a resident of Lawrence his entire life until moving to Brooksby Village in Peabody over 6 years ago. He worked in his father’s poultry business and then joined the Navy during WW II.
Mr. Needle also operated Howdy Beef Burger in Salem, NH and then was a sales representative for J.I. Holcomb Industrial Supplies. He was a member for many years Post 40 of Jewish War Veterans, Masons and Temple Emanuel.
