Obituary for Beverly Lebowitz (Broady)

Beverly Lebowitz, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully at the age of 92 in her Andover home on August 13, 2023. Born June 21, 1931, in Lowell, Massachusetts, to Phillip and Pauline (Weiss) Broady, Beverly was married to her late husband, Jason Lebowitz, for over 71 years prior to his passing in December 2022. She was the youngest of three children, pre-deceased by her brother, Dr. Harold Broady, and sister, Minnie Zeidman. She is survived by her sister-in-law, Sylvia Broady. A 1949 graduate of Lowell High School, Beverly went on to attend Westbrook Junior College.

Beverly was a devoted mother to her four children and loved entertaining the family. She was well known for the elaborate holiday meals she prepared and, especially, for her baking skills. When her children were older, she became a real estate agent, joined her husband in the real estate business and enjoyed working together for many years. Once her grandchildren were born, whom she adored, her and her husband’s lives revolved around them.

Beverly lived with Alzheimer’s disease for the last 14 years but was truly blessed to be taken care of at home. She was loved and cared for by her family and by caregivers who became family.

She is survived by her son, Lee Lebowitz of Andover; son, Scott Lebowitz and his wife, Robyn (Yaffe) Lebowitz of Andover; daughter, Pamela Lebowitz of Tewksbury; daughter, Sharon Lebowitz of New York City; grandson, Zachary Lebowitz and his wife, Wendy (Thomas) Lebowitz of Amesbury; grandson Andrew Lebowitz and his wife, Heather (Rea) Lebowitz of Medford; grandson, Jacob Lebowitz and his wife, Allison (Troy) Lebowitz of Amherst, NH; grandson, Alexander Lebowitz of Andover; and great-grandchildren Louise, Madeline, Katherine, Tova, Delaney and Tyler Alphen.

A graveside service will be held at the Montefiore Cemetery located at 46 Pulpit Rock Road Pelham, NH on Wednesday August 16 at 11:00 AM. Condolence calls may be made at her late residence following the interment on Wednesday until 4PM and 6-8 PM, and Thursday 5-8PM.
