Charlotte E Mazonson

Born Charlotte Sylvia Eigner, July 31,1923, she grew up in Swampscott, Ma attending Swampscott High School then University of Massachusetts, graduating Phi Beta Kappa in 1944. After graduation she worked in cryptography for US Government and later for Polaroid Land Corporation. After raising her family, she returned to school earning a Master’s in Social Work from Northeastern University.

She was married to Barney Mazonson from 1949 until 1972, residing in Marblehead, MA for most of her life. Her passion for all things French led her and her life partner of 25 years, Harold Sossen, to purchase a canal barge, T’skutje. Together they cruised the canals of France, Holland and Belgium for 15 years.

Charlotte leaves her three children, Dr Anne C Mazonson (deceased)of Rockville, Md, Paul and Kathie Mazonson of Boulder, CO. and Martha and William Scarborough of Asheville, NC.

She loves her grandchildren, Shira and Josh Espo, Jessica and Bryan Muir and Jacob Mazonson and Jesse Scarborough. She loves her great grandchildren, Annabel Way and Jack Earl Muir with all her heart.

A graveside service will be held Wed June 9 at 1PM at Waterside Cemetery in Marblehead, MA.
