Obituary for Clyde Harold Palmer II

Clyde Harold Palmer II of 240 Pearl Street, passed away on April 13, 2022 after an extremely long battle with many ailments. Clyde was born in Boston in 1952 at the Boston-Lying-In Hospital. His parents were Clyde H Palmer and Dorothea J Morton Palmer. At the time of Clyde’s birth, they lived at 77 Central Street in Waltham. Clyde had a brother and neither parent is alive.

Clyde’s family moved to Cambridge where he grew up. Clyde was a veteran of the Army. As far as we know, he was attracted to the package store business and oversaw the vast beer business generated from Murray’s Liquors in Newton.

Clyde applied for a job at Sav-Mor Liquors for doing bottles around 1989 and prominently rose to management. His duties included daily managerial functions, beer buying and supervision of the beer for our 3 stores which grew to 5 stores in 1998. He was also the keeper of the company transportation van which he considered an intricate part of his compensation.

Ill health forced Clyde into retirement in 2017 after 27 years of service and he continued his active interest in Sav-Mor and the Alcohol Beverage retail industry from his home. His interests included purchasing his favorite movies and televisions shows, which he viewed from his power assisted lounge chair.

Clyde was as dedicated an employee as the Weiner family ever had. He was a fierce advocate for the package store business and a true friend.

We will miss you and that inscrutable sense of humor.

With love from Ben, Larry, Robbie, Michael, Kenny and our families.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in Clyde's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
