Obituary for Donna Sue McCorry (Winer)

Donna (Winer) McCorry 66, from Peabody formerly Revere entered into eternal rest on Sunday, January 15, 2023. Donna was employed by Raytheon as an Executive Secretary before falling victim to multiple strokes in 1988, which left her as a quadriplegic with no speech for the past 35 years. Even though she could no longer walk or talk, she lived life to her fullest and was always surrounded by her loving and supportive family. Her mother Madalyn devoted her life to Donna ensuring she was always well cared for and a strong advocate for her rights as a disabled individual. Fortunately, she was blessed to see many milestones of her daughter Erica through the years.

Donna was always the life of the party wherever she went. Her smile always lit up a room, and her strength was like no other. Donna was a graduate of Peabody High school class of 1974. She later graduated from Northshore Community College and worked as a freelance stenographer as well. On the weekends, you would find her at Bickfords waitressing where should would manage multiple tables at once with customers only requesting her. She had a fan base at the pancake house.

Unfortunately the past few years were a battle for Donna as she endured complications from her illness. She can now rest comfortably and no longer in pain. Donna is survived by her only daughter Erica Sousa , husband Gene and her beloved grandson Curtis, all from Peabody. She is the loving daughter of Madalyn (Goldman) Winer and the late Samuel Winer. Donna is also survived by her sister Helene Chapman & husband Bruce of Middleton, Max Winer & wife Cinzia of Peabody and Larry Winer of Peabody. She leaves behind many nieces and nephews.

Donna will be deeply missed by her loving family, but her memory will continue on for eternity. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be honored by donating to the American Stroke Foundation, www.americanstroke.org
