Obituary for Eliza Mei-Lin Mager
MAGER- Eliza Mei-Lin
23, of Westford. Entered Eternal Rest after a long illness on December 27, 2020. Cherished daughter of Kimberly Mager. Devoted sister of Amanda Mager. Beloved granddaughter of Val Mager and Louis Mager _.
Eliza was a loving, smart, funny and kindhearted daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece and friend. She grew up in Westford and graduated from Westford Academy in 2015. From the age of 7, Eliza was compelled to write. She wrote amazing short stories and wonderful poetry. Her greatest writing accomplishment was having written a series of fantasy YA books which culminated in the publication of the first book of the series - “The Returning”.
Eliza was born in China and came to her forever family when she was 12 months old. A through and through American, Eliza made sure to stay connected to her Chinese roots. When her middle school stopped offering Chinese as a language, she took lessons privately. When the Olympics came around, Eliza apologetically informed her mother that she was going to root for the Chinese teams. The love and happiness she had for her family and friends was unending. Her joy for living, experiencing life and writing, while challenged at times, continued throughout her illness.
Kim and Amanda will miss Eliza terribly forever and are comforted in the knowledge that Eliza knew and was comforted by the love we have for her. We are so grateful for the tremendous support we have received from our family and friends throughout this terrible journey.
Due to current health restrictions, services are private. A zoom service, followed by a virtual shiva will be held on Wednesday, December 30 at 4pm. See Info below
