Obituary for Erwin Levine

Erwin Levine, 90, of Beverly, formerly of Sharon and Delray Beach, FL, entered eternal rest on January 23, 2021.

Erwin was born in Winthrop, raised in Dorchester and attended Roxbury Memorial High School. He served honorably in the US Navy, before a long career as an executive in garment manufacturing production. He worked for many companies over the course of his career, including Montgomery Ward, May Department Stores International, Macy’s, Liz Claiborne, and as a business agent for ILGWU.

Erwin volunteered with various organizations, he was President of the Massapoag Sportsman Club, Fleet Captain of the North Hudson Yacht Club, President of Waters Ebb Condo Association, President of Aberdeen Arms Condo Association, and VP & President of the Boca Delray Golf & Tennis Club. He was also a former member of Temple Adath Sharon of Sharon, Temple Beth Jacob of Norwich, CT, and currently a member of Temple B’nai Abraham of Beverly.

He was the devoted husband of Dorothy (Baker) Levine for 70 years; beloved father of Rona & her husband Robert Irgens and estranged son Arthur Levine & family; adored grandfather of Melissa & Dan Peikin and Michael & Holly Irgens; cherished great-grandfather of Emma & Eli Peikin and Hayden & Harlow Irgens; and dear brother of Anita “Honey” Taylor.
