Obituary for Helen Brecher (Reiff-Prince)

Helen (Reiff-Prince) Brecher, 96, of Framingham, formerly of Franklin Square, NY, Entered Eternal Rest on January 14, 2021.

Helen was born in Brooklyn, NY, but raised in the Bronx, NY. During World War II, she worked as a legal stenographer for the Judge Advocate General of the US Navy at the Pentagon. In 1944, she married the love of her life Arthur Prince, sadly he died when she was only 39 years old.

She was a loving homemaker for her family and active in the communities in which she lived. She volunteered for 18 years at the Franklin General Hospital in NY and upon moving to Framingham volunteered at the Temple Beth Am knitting group making blankets for patients of the hospital and kipahs for soldiers.

She was an avid fan of the NY Yankees, loved reading, rock n roll, anything leopard, and was very politically aware enjoying the views of MSNBC, especially Rachel Maddow. She was described as feisty, which gave her the ability to drive and be highly active well into her 90’s.

She was the devoted wife of the late Morton “Mike” Brecher and the late Arthur Prince; beloved mother of Barbara & her husband Jeff Sands and Stuart Prince & his partner Randi Behr; adored grandmother of Alicia & David Cohen, Jodie & Robert Zwirn, Aimee Prince, and Ari Prince; cherished great grandmother of Jessica & Melanie Cohen and Jack & Riley Zwirn; and dear sister of the late Walter Reiff and late Aaron Reiff.
