Obituary for Jay Scott Baumgarten
Jay S. Baumgarten 64, of North Reading entered eternal rest on April 20, 2021.
Jay was born and raised in New York, NY, he attended SUNY Oswego and graduated from Adelphi University. He worked at ASE Technologies in Wilmington as a software and sales executive for more than 20 years; afterwards, he continued his love of sales through his independent work. Jay was involved in local youth sports, coaching for North Reading Little League, North Reading Youth Hockey, Masco Youth Hockey, and Buxton Ball in N. Andover as well as a referee for USA Hockey and umpire with the Greater Lawrence Umpire Association. He was also a member of the Tewksbury Gun Club.
Jay was the devoted husband of Carol (Perkins) Baumgarten; beloved father of Aaron Baumgarten and Ray Baumgarten; loving son of Sondra (Sweet) & the late Neil Baumgarten; and brother of Marc Baumgarten.
Due to restrictions, graveside services and memorial week are private. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to the Special Olympics of Massachusetts to honor Jay's strong belief in inclusivity in sports https://www.specialolympicsma.org/get-involved/as-a-donor/
