Obituary for Lawrence L. "Larry" Perletz

Lawrence (Larry) Perletz, 76, passed away suddenly September 19, 2023. Son of late Dr. Percy and Sylvia Perletz. Loving husband of Carol Perletz for 49 years. Larry was born and raised outside of Buffalo NY. He went to MIT for a degree in Physics then onto the University of Illinois for a masters in Physics, where he became interested in biomedical engineering through a research project and then pursued a master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University. He put his new knowledge into pacemaker design and other medical areas, moving to Reading MA in 1977. He eventually settled into writing embedded software in many different products such as atomic clocks. Even though Larry was quiet, he had a dry sense of humor and was clever at contributing to all kinds of topics. He was fully engaged in his two hobbies, experimenting with his wood smoker and surround sound speaker system. He loved to research in order to resolve problems. Larry is survived by his children, David Perletz and his wife Amanda of St. Peters MO, Jennie Perletz-Fort and her husband Thayne of Denver, as well as grandchildren Nathan Perletz and Tyson Fort. Brother of the late Robert Perletz, uncle of Sera Smith, Leah Perletz Phillips, and Lissa Perletz. Also survived by an aunt, uncle, and many cousins.

A funeral service will be conducted at the Maple Hill Cemetery Chapel 98 Canterbury Drive, Peabody, MA on Tuesday, September 26, at 11 AM. Condolence calls may be made following the interment at his late residence. In lieu of flowers, contribute to the charity of your choice.
