87, of Swampscott formerly of Medford. Entered Eternal Rest peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on July 22, 2023. Devoted husband & best friend of the late Maxine (Patrick) Oppenheim. Loving and dear father of Lynda & Jay Shuman, Karen & George Shapiro and Shelley & Chris Ciulla. Much adored grandfather (Puppy) of Evan & Jaclyn Firestone, Matthew Shuman, Alexa Shapiro and Sydney Ciulla. Proud great grandfather of Ethan and Hailey Firestone. Special friend of Anne Connors. Dear brother of Leonard & Dena Oppenheim. Much loved uncle of Sam and Michael Oppenheim. The family is very thankful for the special loving care that Loe Nabayinda provided. Also thankful for Charles and others that provided friendship and support. Larry was a passionate Red Sox fan. He looked forward to sunny days at Revere Beach swimming and enjoying Richie’s slush or pizza. Every day began with breakfast and the Boston Globe. He loved listening to Oldies, watching Jeopardy, sipping on a margarita; but most of all being with his family- so fortunate to have a wonderful Dad & “Puppy”. By request of the family, Services and Shiva are private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hadassah or Jewish National Fund.
