Phyllis was born and raised in Malden, MA where she attended the public schools, after which she enrolled in business school and became a legal secretary. She took time away from work to raise her family in the early 70's and 80's, then went back to school and obtained a pre-school teacher certification and taught at the Jewish Community Center in Peabody for 15 years. During that time, Phyllis met Boris. Together they enjoyed traveling, and spending time with her extended family.

After her first grandson was born, she stepped away from teaching and spent a lot of her time being "Mimi". She also worked part time with a lifelong friend working for her company selling promotional items to corporations. When Phyllis finally retired, she continued to enjoy spending time with family and friends especially her four grandsons.

Phyllis loved playing Mahjong, Bingo, going to casinos, babysitting, her winter trips to Florida and Aruba, shopping, dining out, and chatting for hours on the telephone.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of one's choice.
