Obituary for S. Jason Lebowitz

S. Jason Lebowitz, beloved husband and father of four, peacefully passed away at the age of 92
in his Andover home on December 30, 2022.

Born on June 17, 1930 in Methuen to Max and Bessie (Harris) Lebowitz, Jason was one of four
children, predeceased by his three siblings Barbara Safran, Walter B. Lebowitz, and Milton Lebowitz. A 1948 graduate of Methuen High School, Jason followed in his father and grandfather’s footsteps working as a plumber and mechanical contractor after earning a math degree from UMass Amherst in 1953. In the early 60s, Jason was one of the lead mechanical engineers on the Prudential Center project in Boston, working for Perini Corporation. He went on to start S. Jason Lebowitz Co., Inc. in 1964 and began investing in real estate shortly thereafter. Jason was a personable, fair, and well-respected landlord to hundreds of tenants. Additionally, Jason mentored countless investors over the years as he was always generous with sharing his knowledge and expertise.

Although Jason always found success in whatever he pursued professionally, he was most proud of his family. In 1951, Jason married Beverly (Broady) Lebowitz, whom he remained happily married to for 71 years. Together they raised four children, spoiled four grandchildren, and saw three great-grandchildren enter the world this past year.

Jason will be missed most for his warm presence, great sense of humor, and uncanny storytelling ability which remained consistent until the end. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his
wife, Beverly; son, Lee Lebowitz of Andover; son, Scott Lebowitz and his wife, Robyn (Yaffe) Lebowitz of Andover; daughter, Pamela Lebowitz of Tewksbury; daughter, Sharon Lebowitz of New York City; grandson, Zachary Lebowitz and his wife, Wendy (Thomas) Lebowitz of Amesbury; grandson Andrew Lebowitz and his wife, Heather (Rea) Lebowitz of Medford; grandson, Jacob Lebowitz and his wife, Ally (Troy) Lebowitz of Amherst, NH; grandson, Alexander Lebowitz of Andover; and great-grandchildren Madeline, Katherine, Tova Lebowitz, and Delaney and Tyler Alphen.

A graveside service will be held at the Montefiore Cemetery located at 46 Pulpit Rock Road Pelham, NH on Monday January 2 at 11:00 AM. Condolence calls may be made at his late residence following the interment on Monday until 4PM and 6-8 PM, and Tuesday 1-4PM and 6-8PM.
