Obituary for Sarah Dorfsman (Epstein)

Sarah Dorfsman, 97, of Beverly, MA, passed away on May 16, 2020 at Bridgeport Hospital (CT). Born in Boston, she was raised in Dorchester and moved to Beverly in 1955. Sarah was the beloved mother of two sons, Michael Dorfsman of New Canaan, CT, and Harvey Dorfsman of Seattle, WA, and the mother-in-law to Beth Dorfsman and Phyllis Kristjanson. She was the loving grandmother of five grandchildren: Amanda Katz, Daniel and Noah Dorfsman, Debi Dorfsman (Tricia Boerger) and Lise Brende. She was also a dear great-grandmother to Rebecca and Elena Katz and Peyton and Kalia Boerger. She was predeceased by her husband of 21 years, David, and by her sisters and brother, Mary, Ruth and Joseph Epstein.
For decades, Sarah worked as a bookkeeper for various businesses in Beverly and Salem, including the Beverly YMCA. She was a long-time member of Temple B’nai Abraham and was active in its Sisterhood, including her time serving as its president. Services will be private through Temple B’nai Abraham.
