Sharon (Pitler) Cores, 67, of North Reading, Entered Eternal Rest June 13, 2023. Sharon was a native of Pittsburgh, PA. She and her family moved to Kokomo, Indiana and then to Indianapolis where she graduated high school. Sharon was accepted to Salem State College and earned her B.A. in psychology. She then earned her master’s degree from Northeastern University in rehabilitation counseling. She then became certified as an early childhood educator at Hebrew College in Newton. She was a teacher at the Jewish Preschool of Lexington for over 20 years.

She was the devoted wife of David Cores, whom she met and fell in love with in her freshman year at Salem State College, they were married for 40 years. She was the beloved mother of Scott Cores and Alex Cores; and dear sister of Linda & her husband Gregg Zizos and their son Christopher. She cherished her time with Scott’s late dog Shayna.

Services will be held at Congregation Sons of Israel corner of Spring & Park Streets, Peabody on Thursday, June 15 at 11:30 AM. Interment at Bnai Brith Cemetery, Peabody. Condolence calls may be made at 190 High St. Unit 203 Medford following the interment until 8PM, continuing on Friday 1-5 PM and Sunday 3-8PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be to Congregation Sons of Israel P.O. Box 702 Peabody, MA 01960 or a charity of one’s choice.
