Gladys M. Gordon, 95, of Peabody, MA, formerly of Newburgh, NY, passed away on July 3, 2015. Born in Passaic, NJ, she was the daughter of Rebecca and Herman Simon, and the loving sister of the late Shirley Rosenthal. Gladys graduated from Newark Beth Israel Nursing School and worked as a full time, then part time, nurse for many years. She was an active member of B’nai B’rith Women and the JCC “Young at Heart”. She was a member of Temple Beth Jacob, Newburgh, over 60 years.
Gladys was the devoted wife of the late Bernard Gordon. She was the beloved mother of Sharon & Marty Bregman of Danvers, MA, Roberta “Bobbie” & Mark Moses of Schenectady, and Leslie “Les” & Cheryl Gordon of Atlanta, GA. She was the adored grandmother of 8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Temple Beth Jacob Cemetery, 16 Underhill Place, Newburgh, NY on July 8, at 2:00. Shiva Minyan will be held Wednesday and Thursday at 7:00 at the home of Eric & Gilah Moses, 1067 Lamplighter Rd, Niskayuna, and Thursday 1-9:00 at 30 Wildwood Rd., Danvers.
