Dorothy (Valentino) Rosenberg, 85, of Andover, Seabrook, NH and Hallandale, FL, passed away, peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, December 20th in the Andover home where she proudly raised her family. She was the beloved wife Of Sydney (Shyer) Rosenberg for 43 years until his death in October, 2000.
Born in Lawrence. Massachusetts in 1930, the daughter of Italian immigrants, Giuseppe J. and Rose (Gemmellaro) Valentino. Dorothy, was a proud Lawrencian. Raised in Lawrence, she spent summers at Nantasket and Salisbury Beach with her parents, two sisters and one brother. She was educated at the Holy Rosary School and Lawrence High School. She married the center of her world, Shyer Rosenberg, Founder of Shyer's Lobster Pounds Inc., in 1957.Together they raised their two children in Andover. She loved her life in Andover, adored summers at her Seabrook Beach home and enjoyed winters in her Florida residence. Her life was full, fortunate and most blessed when the whole family was with her. Dottie was first and foremost a wife, mother and grandmother. Her world revolved around her family and extended family. She loved who she loved intently. Her dedication to family and friends, pride of place and position, strength of conviction and joy of living will remain with us always.
She is survived by and will be dearly missed by her children, Dana Rosenberg of Pacific Palisades, CA, Neil and his wife Lisa of North Andover, MA, her grandchildren whom she adored: Chad Rosenberg and Kayla Rosenberg of North Andover, MA her sister Angela (James) DiLorenzo of Haverhill, MA, sister-in-law, Jacqueline Valentino of Hampton, NH, brother-in-law, Jason Rosenberg of Newton, MA as well as many relatives and dear friends. Dorothy was predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth (Lee) Greenglass and her brother, James (Sonny) Valentino.
Services at Temple Emanuel, 7 Haggetts Pond Road, Andover on Tuesday December 29 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Temple Emanuel Cemetery Lawrence, Memorial observance will be at the home of Neil and Lisa Rosenberg, Tuesday following the interment until 9:00PM and on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM.
