HOLLAND, Dr. George A.
51, of Marblehead. Entered Eternal Rest suddenly while on a family vacation on January 1, 2013. Devoted husband of Laura (Baum). Beloved father of Joseph, Emily and Sarah Holland. Adored son of Howard and Ann Holland. Dear brother of Elizabeth & her husband Glen Allen. Cherished son-in-law of Stanley and Jeanne Baum Services at Goldman Funeral Chapel 174 Ferry St. (off Route 60) Malden on Sunday January 6 at 11:00 AM. Interment in Everett. Condolence calls may be made at his late residence Sunday following the interment until 5PM and continuing Monday thru Thursday 7-9PM.with Minyan each evening at 7 PM. Life Story for Dr. George Alan Holland

Dr. George A. Holland
51, of Marblehead. Entered Eternal Rest suddenly while on a family vacation on January 1, 2013. He was an Associate Professor of Radiology at the University of Rochester and International expert in Medical Imaging and a pioneer in MRI of the blood vessels. He was published and lectured extensively, through his work thousands of patients have benefitted from his innovation and imagination. from A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Colgate University in 1983 and graduate of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1988. He served his internship and residency at the U. of Penn, following which he held faculty appointments at U. of Penn, Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine and Lahey Clinic Medical Center. He was recruited in 2009 by the U. of Rochester to continue his work in vascular imaging. Many physicians he has trained have gone on to academic positions at major universities. He was the recipient of many research grants and awards from Radiology Societies. At the time of his death, he was serving on the editorial boards of three radiology journals.
