Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Melvin Shneider can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Life Story for Melvin David Shneider

Melvin David Shneider, 88, longtime resident of Medford, most recently of Framingham, entered eternal rest October 1, 2014. Born in Chelsea, Massachusetts to Louis and Rebecca Shneider. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served on the U.S.S. Bon Homme Richard during WWII. After retiring from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms as an Area Supervisor, he worked in the mortgage industry for 20 years. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Lucille (Riletz) Shneider, his daughter Judith Epstein & her husband Andrew of Dover, son Neil Shneider & his wife Leah Dickerman, daughter Randi Epstein & her husband Jonathan and daughter Stephanie Kornbleuth & her husband Steven. He is the beloved grandfather (“Zayde”) of Rebecca and Matthew Epstein, Sarah and Sam Epstein, Sydney and Joshua Kornbleuth and Daniel and Livia Shneider. Dear brother of the late Marilyn Shneider Rubenstein.
Services at Temple Shalom 475 Winthrop St, Medford on Friday October 3 at 11:00AM. Interment to follow at Temple Shalom Cemetery in Peabody. Visitors will be welcomed after Yom Kippur on Sunday, October 5 at the home of Judith and Andrew Epstein from 2-8PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy in his memory may be made to Temple Shalom or a charity of your choice.
