82, of Lowell. Professor Emeritus UMass Lowell. After 34 years as a Professor he served 15 years as a Student Advisor. Entered Eternal Rest on April 10, 2016. Devoted husband of Diana “Yana” (Neusner) Shapiro. Beloved father of Mark Shapiro, Judi Shapiro and Stevi Ann & her husband Mark Wellington. Cherished grandfather of Courtney and Jordan Shapiro. Dear brother of the late Lillian Greenberg, C. Allen Shapiro, Norton Shapiro and Sumner Shapiro. Services at Temple Emanuel 7 Haggetts Pond Road (off Route 133) Andover on Wednesday April 13 at 1:00 PM. Interment in Montefiore Cemetery, Pelham, NH. Condolence calls may be made following the interment at the Radisson Hotel 10 Independence Drive Chelmsford until 8PM and on Thursday 2-8PM; continuing at his late residence on Friday 12-4PM. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Bernard & Yana Shapiro Endowed Scholarship Fund c/o Office of University Advancement 600 Suffolk St. Suite 160 Lowell, MA 01852 or McLean Hospital Alzheimer’s Research c/o Development Office 115 Mill St. Mailstop 156 Belmont, MA 02478.
